Welcome to The Last Light of Tullowyth, an immersive fantasy theater experience with original music and story born from the rich imaginations of our creative team at Acting Up Fantasy Events. What started as a novel soon took on a life of its own, transforming into a stage production filled with fae, forgotten royalty, and ancient magic.
Each week, we’ll unveil a new piece of the story, followed by a special “From Page to Stage” section where we share how we brought the characters, dialogue, and magical moments to life in our immersive theater world.
Chapter 1: Coronation Chaos
The sun hung high above Tullowyth, casting a golden glow over
the cobblestone streets and the bustling market. The air was
filled with the scent of freshly baked bread and the humble
chatter of its residents. Tullowyth seemed to be the perfect place
to live, however, not too long ago, it was a different and
dangerous place. There was a time where satyrs and fae were at
war with one another. Though King Maelog established peace
and commerce between the two lands, some held on to
discriminatory and old fashion views.
Meanwhile, in the royal castle, Cerys Aurelia stood before a full-
length mirror, her dark brown eyes reflecting the nervous
excitement within her. Her floral coronation gown shimmered
under the soft light, and her long, dark hair cascaded down her
back in gentle waves. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for
the ceremony ahead.
Her maidservant, a kind-hearted fae named Elara, fussed over
her dress, making last-minute adjustments. "You look beautiful,
Your Highness," Elara murmured. "King Maelog would be proud."
Cerys offered a small smile, her hands clasped tightly in front of
her. "Thank you, Elara. I just hope I can live up to his legacy."
Outside the castle, the crowd grew restless. Whispers of
discontent echoed through the air, fueled by the rumors spread
by Merovia, King Maelog’s twin sister. She was certain that she
was going to be crowned queen since the king had no male heirs.
It was said that her eyes grew red with rage upon hearing the
news that her brother named his daughter Queen of Tullowyth.
She swiftly spread word of her attempt to claim the throne
promising that when crowned queen, she will rid Tullowyth of all
satyrs.
Merovia stood at the edge of the crowd, her eyes gleaming with
malice as she watched the scene unfold. Her army of loyalists,
hidden among the throng, awaited her signal.
As the royal procession began, Cerys walked alongside her
advisors, her head held high despite the churning in her stomach.
The crowd cheered, but there were jeers mixed in with the
applause, a stark reminder of the divisions that still existed within
Tullowyth.
Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the castle grounds. Panic
erupted as fae and satyrs alike scrambled for safety. Merovia's
loyalists, armed and ready, emerged from the crowd, their
weapons drawn. Chaos descended as they clashed with the royal
guards, the sound of metal against metal echoing through the air.
Cerys Aurelia's heart raced as she darted through the chaos of
the castle grounds, the echoes of clashing steel and panicked
cries ringing in her ears. She had barely registered the explosion
when the world around her erupted into a frenzy. Fae and satyrs
alike scrambled for safety, their faces painted with fear and
confusion. The cheers that had moments ago filled the air had
transformed into a cacophony of dread.
As she navigated the throng of bodies, Cerys felt the weight of
her crown pressing down on her, both a symbol of her birthright
and a reminder of the danger that now surrounded her. She
needed to escape, to find a way to protect her kingdom from the
treachery that threatened to consume it. But every direction she
turned seemed to lead her deeper into the chaos, and her breath
came in short gasps.

From Page to Stage: How The Last Light of Tullowyth Was Born
Every story has a beginning, and The Last Light of Tullowyth began, like many good stories, with a dream… and a bit of desperation.
After taking our theater troupe on the road recently, I found myself wracking my brain for a way to keep doing what we love—singing, dancing, acting, and spreading joy through the magic of live theater—but also pay the bills.
As lovers of Renaissance faires and immersive events, our team started asking: What if we created a traveling fantasy show? One that could work at weddings, festivals, special events, or anywhere people craved a little theatrical enchantment. We knew we didn’t want to do a tired retelling of an old tale—we wanted something original, something ours.
That’s when Cass (Cassandra Pasquarosa) started writing the story. She built a world of lost royalty, dark queens, fae, satyrs, and secrets hidden in ancient forests. As soon as the first draft hit the page, I knew we were onto something. I started adapting it for the stage and began scouring the internet for public domain Renaissance music—something to bring this world to life sonically.
That’s when I stumbled on an album on YouTube called To The Fair We Go. It had a whimsical, cinematic, haunting feel. I thought, Some of these songs would be perfect for our show. I wonder who created this?
Enter: Quickskillz.
I reached out to ask about his music, and not only did he say we could use it—he blew our minds by offering to write custom songs for the show. That’s how we ended up with original pieces like, “All Hail Queen Merovia” and "By Stars and Flame." Being able to weave original music into the performance changed everything. It elevated the show from a cool project to a deeply layered theatrical experience with its own voice and sound.
We’re incredibly grateful to Quickskillz—check out his music on his YouTube channel here.
So that’s how The Last Light of Tullowyth began: a blend of story, music, theater, and the kind of collaboration that feels like magic.
